The outbreak of COVID-19 has made the flaws and inequities in our current system apparent. Until we elect leadership that works for all and not the few, we need to ensure that we are building networks to support everyone during this time, including the most vulnerable in our community. There’s no telling what the coming weeks and months will hold, but we can continue to build connections and grow our grassroots movement. We thank you for your ongoing support and we hope you are all staying safe during this time.
We have started a movement in AD 64. A movement that demonstrates people power does not need to be funded by large corporations. The connections that you and other volunteers achieved through door knocking, phoning, texting and donating during the primary have been essential to amplifying an alternative, people-centered way to govern. But as we enter difficult and uncertain times many folks in our communities are vulnerable to losing their jobs and potentially not accessing food and/or health care services. We know that we need to check in on everyone in our community. Therefore, our campaign has decided to actively work to ensure that our community stays safe.
Join us to make neighborhood check-in calls to folks in the district. We want to make sure everyone in our community is safe, has access to resources and knows we are here to support! Our campaign is available to pick up and deliver groceries and prescriptions, as well as, taking kids to pick up breakfast and lunch at various school district sites.
To learn more about how you can continue to volunteer we are hosting a virtual self-care check-in where we want to community sources activities that folks are doing at home, create space to check in and build community, and share our campaign plans for during the COVID-19 pandemic.
